Morning Skincare Regimen for Working Women

Posted by FE Beauty on 3/14/2015 to Beauty Tips
While night-time is considered a time to indulge in some of life pleasures like soaking in skin-nourishing oils and other aromatics topped with late-night DVD marathon, the early morning is often characterized by a rushed shower, speedy makeup session and a poorly cleaned face. The result is incomplete cleanup and preparation for the face and body, making these prone to skin-related problems brought by the sun and other unwanted elements like soot, pollutants, smoke and smog. And when these pollutants are left unchecked, these can cause skin problems and may fast-track skin aging. In short, what you do with your body and skin (and how you do it) is a critical concern that should be considered before your coffee and before dashing towards work commute.

Regular skin care and cleansing matters

Morning skin care rituals are made easier if you take care of your skin on a regular basis. There’s no need to spend hundreds of dollars when it comes to regular skin care; just find the appropriate skin cleanser for your skin to keep the skin clean and fresh. And the choice of skin care products and cleansers is dependent on your skin type.

Know your type of skin before choosing a skincare product

Dry skin isn't an indication that your skin is clean. Dry skin also requires regular clean-up every morning to take out dirt and bacteria that have accumulated during sleep. Dry skin lacks oil and moisture, thus you’ll need to shop for a skin cleanser that’s creamy and packed with glycerin, hyaluronic acid, ceramides and other mild moisturizers. Products like Estee Lauder Hydrationist Maximum Moisture Crème for normal and combination skin offered by FE Beauty can keep your skin hydrated throughout the day. And with regular use, skin is rendered soft and balanced. Stay away from products with too much fragrance or alcohol, and only use warm water.

Oily skin also requires early morning cleaning using a cleanser that contains salicylic or glycolic acid. Look for oil-free cleansers to wash your face using warm water. You can also add astringent after washing the face, but be careful when applying a toner or astringent to avoid irritating the skin. When properly used and applied, the application of astringent can remove excess oil and can add a layer of radiance to skin. And for sensitive skin, soothing and gentle skin cleanser like the popular Cetaphil skin cleanser. Gentle cleansers don’t contain excessive fragrance, soap, alcohol and acid that may damage the skin. If possible look for cleansers that contain calming ingredients like oats, green tea and chamomile. Pat but don’t rub your face with towel.

Other skin care products to consider

Moisturizing the skin can be included in the morning ritual, and this step can work whatever the skin type. Apply the moisturizer while your skin is still damp to effectively seal in the moisture. Another recommended skincare product to use every day is sunscreen which can work as protection against sun’s damaging rays. Whether you have oily or dry skin, sunscreen can work for your skin when it comes to quality protection. Some moisturizing products contain sunscreen, but it would be best to purchase another sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.

A morning skin care regimen that includes cleansing, moisturizing and application of sunscreen is your best and reliable investment against skin care problems. And to simplify the morning ritual, there are reliable skin care products and cleansers that can help in keeping the skin clear and free from damages.
