De-stress Your Skin

As a young adult, I didn’t apply moisturizer to my face because I didn’t want it to clog my pores and cause more acne. The truth was, the moisturizer wouldn’t have caused more acne. I washed with harsh soaps to get the makeup off, which stripped the natural oils from my eyes and skin.
I thought it was too late to repair my skin without cosmetic surgery, to tighten the delicate skin around my eyes and keep my face from sliding south any further. When did I get so old? My body turned forty when I wasn’t looking, and I found myself scrambling to prevent further damage.
I learned that one of the best thing you can do for your skin is to drink lots and lots of water. Many of us don’t drink enough water. I was definitely one of those people. I drank too much coffee, not enough water, and the end result was very dry, stressed-out skin.
Just like our bodies and minds can feel stress, it can also manifest in our skin. And just like we have methods to reduce stress in our lives, there are ways to distress our skin as well. Wash with a gentle cleanser and apply a good moisturizer. Drink water. Drink water. Drink water.
Don’t go to bed without washing up! Sometimes it’s hard when you’re exhausted, and just want your head to hit that pillow, but resist the temptation.
Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair, Time Zone Line and Wrinkle Reducing Crème, and Advanced Night Repair Eye are a few products that can at least help stop the clock if it can’t completely turn it
back. The sooner you start using these products on a nightly basis, the better your skin will look and feel.
De-stress it by giving it the love and nourishment it deserves. Your skin will thank you.
